Library Hosts Award-Winning Local Author for Craft Talk

The library will host a virtual author event, “Writing Fact to Fiction: Book Release and Craft Chat,” featuring Cathy Sultan on Tuesday, December 7 at 7 p.m. Registration is required. To register, go to www.ecpubliclibrary.info/sultan.

Sultan will share the real-life inspiration for her political thriller novels, including her newest novel, An Ambassador to Syria. She was living in Beirut, Lebanon with her husband and young children when civil war erupted in 1975. “My books tackle real-life conflicts and real-life people who live in these in conflict zones because these are the adventures I’ve lived, the people I know.”

Sultan won USA’s Best Book of the Year Award in 2006 for her autobiography A Beirut Heart, the 2006 Midwest Book Awards-Honorable Mention for Israeli and Palestinian Voices, and Damascus Street was honored as a 2019 Montaigne Medal Finalist.

An Ambassador to Syria is the third novel in a four-part series and is available to purchase from Amazon and the Volume One Local Store.
